Minerva’s Master in Decision Analysis (MDA) program is structured in a way that activates your brain to the maximum — all traditional learning techniques such as listening and note-taking, memorizing, or briefly skimming prep materials before class do not work for Minerva seminars which are built as interactive discussions with professors only facilitating, not lecturing.

Student Perspective

My team had spent the past 3 months trying to solve a problem involving major IT system development to implement a new service within our company. Previously, the team had spent most time brainstorming solutions and trying to make them fit our issue, which did not make significant progress. Last week I introduced everyone to some of the problem solving skills from my MDA class - #rightproblem identification and #gapanalysis. Instead of jumping to a solution, we shifted to trying to understand our problem better, then reviewing existing solutions we could utilize. We solved our problem in a week!
